| Psalm 9:-10 (ESV) The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you. This past month at Grace Church Orkney we have welcomed 8 people who trust the LORD into church membership. Andrew, Laura, Silas, Matt, Amy, Ricky, Vanessa and Jackie all were formally welcomed into membership during two of our Sunday services. Please pray for them that they keep their eyes fixed on Christ, that they are encouraged, for us all that we keep unity among us and serve each other well.   In our Sunday services we have had Mez, Matt and Andrew preach through and finish chapter 6 of Mark. In Bible study Mez has continued to teach through Matthew and we have reached the end of the Lord’s prayer in chapter 6. Please pray that the LORD uses these sermons and studies to enable us to grow in faith, love and every grace. We continue to meet in the Community Centre on Sundays, and this is working well for us with plenty of space for kids Sunday School, and a time of food and fellowship after. We are hoping to go live on YouTube with our services and ask you if you could please subscribe to our YouTube channel. Search for Grace Church Orkney and click to subscribe.  On the first of November, Grace kids club started with a light party in the church hall. This club for children aged 5-11 will be the first Saturday of every month with a Christmas special bonus one. The first club saw 6 children from the community come to hear about Jesus, which is encouraging and exciting. We hope to see more next time as the date and time becomes better known around the town. Please pray for those leading – Jason, Silas, Matt, Sarah and Amy – and please pray that more kids from the community come and hear about Jesus.  Thank you to all who have been praying. The LORD has provided again for the church to buy a second ministry house. This will provide a home for the Huffmiers in Stromness and means we are able to spread out in the town to reach more people with the Gospel. We are so grateful to God and are all excited for Andrew, Laura and their kids to have their own home. Mez has been away to Edinburgh and Glasgow this past week teaching the men who are training to be planters and pastors for 20 Schemes as well as doing some work with the 20 Schemes/Grimke Ragged School of Theology. We have had 2 people from 20 Schemes churches in Edinburgh who needed time away come up to stay for indefinite amounts of time. One man and one lady who both have been struggling and were in need of a clean break. Between Mez and Miriam’s house and Matt and Cee in the ministry house. We are blessed to be able to offer this in prayerful hope that we can point people to Christ and encourage them to stay walking with Him. Please pray as the whole church seeks to care for people who come up to us that we are able to offer this much needed help to more. The team have been proactive in the community seeking to make friends and getting to know people with the goal of telling them the Gospel. This has led to time meeting up, coffees out, meals at the ministry house and meeting up for evangelistic one to one’s. By God’s grace we are becoming more and more known around the town and trusted by locals as people they can come to if they need to talk. Please pray the LORD will continue to bless this work as we seek to advance His kingdom here. We gathered together to watch the fireworks display on Wednesday 5th November which took place along the water down in Stromness. It was a fun time too meet together as a church family as we stood by the water and watched the bonfire and fireworks. All the kids (and adults) enjoyed watching the display.
